Dua Lipa, an English musician and singer, was born in London, on 22 August 1995. The self-titled debut album was released in 2017 following her signed with Warner Bros Records. The album climbed to No. 3 on the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles that were released, including Be the First I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa received the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British debut act in 2018. The album was rated platinum worldwide. Dua Lipa was conceived by London with Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. Also, her ancestors come from Peja, which is a Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. She is the sister of Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. The family home where Lipa grew up, was one in which her father played music by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she started singing. At the age of nine, Lipa began to sing in the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Gotta You By Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. Lipa was offered a recording contract by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. In August 2015 her first single New Love came out.
